Today, I think about mothers and women who want to be mothers. I think about women who fill mother roles in the lives of others. I think of children who mourn the loss of their mothers. I think about the women who long to be mothers. Today, I think about mothers who foster, who adopt, who mentor. Today, I think about mothers who struggle to provide for their children. I think about mothers around the world who struggle to keep the children safe, warm, and fed. I think especially today of the mothers of the missing girls in Nigeria and the sorrow they must feel. Today, I think about my own mother and the women in my life who model what a mother should be. Thanks to all of the women who fill these roles and bless us with their presence and love.
